Originally born in Taiwan, Dr. Gomez immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of twelve. She maintains a close connection with her place of birth and still speaks both Mandarin and Taiwanese. But today she is proud to call the city of Chicago her home, and loves the rich and diverse people and culture that the city offers.
Aside from loving the practice of podiatry and helping her patients, Dr. Gomez has fondness for the visual arts and dance. She received a bachelors degree in Fine Arts focused in painting at University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana before studying medicine. In her effort to promote healthy living life style, Dr. Gomez became a Zumba dance instructor in 2011. She taught regular classes while juggling family and private podiatry practice for 3 years. Currently, Dr. Gomez continues to participate in dance charity fund raising events to promote fitness/healthy life styles. Dr. Gomez is compassionate in treating people of all ages and a firm believer in preventative foot health.
Having suffered from chronic foot fatigue throughout her childhood, Dr. Gomez had her interests piqued into podiatry when, as a student, she shadowed her local podiatrist. She learned the importance of podiatry both as it pertained to her own health and as a direction for her future study and career. Dr. Gomez remains very excited to be a podiatrist and to see her love and passion to help people is fulfilled each day.
